for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals/Humane Society is a non-profit
organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare and animal rights.
The SPCA/HS provides a 24-hour voice-mail answering service and receives
over 1,500 calls each month. 40% of these calls are spay and neuter assistance
requests, 10% are for cruelty investigations, 25% for miscellaneous information,
and 25% are adoption requests. Emergency calls that deal with a suffering
animal are referred to our live answering service which refers the matter
to the on-call volunteer for immediate attention. |
